Woman hilariously reveals surplus of work-from-home equipment after applying for multiple jobs

A woman has hilariously revealed all the work-from-home equipment she received after applying to multiple jobs.

In a recent video posted to TikTok, the woman, who goes by the username @thedivinemotherr, went on to showcase her room full of work-from-home items. Some of the equipment included three different monitors, each of which she had on a nightstand, a desk, or the floor.

The video also revealed the two laptops she received, with each one placed on its own small table on the floor. She also had another laptop on her desk.

She poked fun at how many computers and monitors she had in the text over the video, writing: “POV [point of view]: You kept applying for [work-from-home] jobs and they all sent you the equipment.”

The worker also described her upcoming schedule in the caption, writing. “Now I have three training classes tomorrow AT 9am.”

As of 25 October, the video has more than two million views, with people in the comments poking fun at the results of the TikToker’s job search. Others expressed their surprise as they claimed it hasn’t been easy for them to find work-from-home jobs.

“Tell me how I’ve literally been applying for WFH jobs since I was three months pregnant and didn’t get ONE,” one wrote. “My baby is sevem months now.”

“And this why they won’t call me back, you got all the jobs,” another added, while a third joked: “I can barely get one and you got 17?! Let’s fight.”

Others expressed how they could relate to the woman’s video about having so much work-from-home equipment.

“I quit the jobs I didn’t like and ended up with one job the same day. Felt like the Hunger Games for my PCs and equipment,” one wrote.

“Girrrrl the amount of MONITORS I have in my closet! I don’t know who belongs to who!” another added.

In a follow-up video, @thedivinemotherr went on to showcase her setup when working from home, which included two monitors and a laptop on her desk. Meanwhile, she also had her two other laptops on separate stands next to her.

In the text over the video, she quipped: “POV: you’re the QUEEN of [work-from-home] jobs.”

The Independent has contacted @thedivinemotherr for comment.

This isn’t the first social media user who’s gone viral after discussing their work life. Earlier this week, a college graduate sparked a debate after she complained about her 9 to 5 work schedule. In a video shared to TikTok, a woman named Brielle explained that, because her job is completely in-person, she has to commute into “the city” which takes her “forever”. She specified that in order to make it to work on time, she takes the train at 7.30am, before typically leaving around 6.15pm at the earliest.

“I don’t have time to do anything,” she said in the video. “I want to shower, eat my dinner and go to sleep. I don’t have time or energy to cook my dinner either. I don’t have energy to work out, like, that’s out the window.”

She went on to note that it wasn’t her job she was having problems with, but the lifestyle of eight-hour work days. “If it was remote you get off at 5 and you’re home, and everything’s fine,” Brielle said.

In the comments, many people supported her amid her frustrations, with claims that “the 40-hour work week is beyond outdated”. However, others encouraged her to adjust her time management skills in order to find a schedule that “works for” her.
